GIS Got Singers ’24: A Resounding Success!

On 20th October 2024, Glenrich International School Uttara hosted its much-anticipated vocal competition, GIS Got Singers ’24, at the Level 6 Auditorium of Senior School campus. The event showcased the remarkable talent of our students from Grades 5 to 12 and left the audience buzzing with excitement. 

The judges were Mr. Ashfaqul Bari Rumon, vocalist of the band Parthibo and a singer/songwriter, and Mr. Tanbeer Dawood Rony, keyboard player and member of the bands Parthibo and Meghdol.

The day began with a warm welcome and introduction of the judges, setting the stage for an exhilarating display of vocal prowess. 

Students participated in two sessions:

First Session (Grades 5-8): 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Second Session (Grades 9-12): 12:50 p.m. – 1:40 p.m.

Each session featured eight talented participants, all eager to impress our esteemed judges. The atmosphere was electric as students showcased their hard work and dedication in front of fellow students, parents, and faculty members.

Winners Announcement:

After a series of captivating performances, the winners were announced at the end of both sessions. Congratulations to our exceptional performers!

Winners (Grades 5-8):

1st Place: Archisha Dhar (6C)

2nd Place: Aditi Sarker (8F)

3rd Place: Pushpika Suhaima Nidhi (8F)

Winners (Grades 9-12):

1st Place: Eva Rose Nellissery (12C)

2nd Place: Fabiha Anwar Rudaba (10A)

3rd Place: Arikto Chowdhury (10E)

A special thank you goes to the dedicated team of organizers: Head of Activities of Music, Art, and Dance (AMAD) Department and Music and Vocals Teacher Mr. Sazzad Hossain Shawon, who is also popularly known as Gaanwala, Drums Teacher Mr. Imran Shishir Reza, Guitar Teacher Mr. Touhidul Alam Khan Sonnet, and Keyboard Teacher Mr. Rayhan Chowdhury, along with all the teachers involved in making this event a memorable experience. A special thank you to Dance Teachers Partho Protim Das and Palash Khan for helping with the event. Shoutout to the Head of the Lower-Secondary Section Ms. Jesmin Sultana and the Head of the Upper-Secondary Section Ms. Shegufta Hasan Khan. Gratitude to all the teachers and administrative team members who helped us in the coordination of the event.

GIS Got Singers ’24 not only highlighted our students’ incredible vocal talents but also fostered a sense of community and celebration within Glenrich International School Uttara. We look forward to seeing how our talented students continue to grow and shine in future competitions.
