Curriculum Overview – Uttara

Glenrich International School Satarkul

Curriculum Overview Curriculum: Cambridge International At Glenrich International School Uttara, we teach the Cambridge Curriculum within an international context that incorporates Bangladeshi culture and ethos, shaping our students into global citizens. Recognized globally for its academic rigor, the Cambridge Curriculum offers a broad and balanced range of subjects, allowing students to pursue their passions while gaining essential skills and qualifications for the 21st century. Spanning from Playgroup to Cambridge A Level, our curriculum explicitly teaches and assesses essential content and skills, emphasizing inquiry, creativity, analytical evaluation, and other competencies needed to thrive in the future. Early Years at Glenrich International School Uttara Year levels: Playgroup, Nursery, KG1 and KG2 Glenrich School Dhaka takes pride in being the pioneer in Bangladesh to introduce the Cambridge Early Years Programme at the Pre-primary level for children between the ages of 2.5 years to 6.5. By seamlessly integrating this curriculum with a rich array of Montessori activities, our students experience optimal intellectual and developmental growth. The Cambridge Early Years is in line with international best practice and research, and in collaboration with pioneers of early education worldwide. The programme builds on these key principles: 1. ExperienceLearning should complement the social and cultural factors (like experiences of home and community) that shape a child’s learning and development. 2. ActiveChildren should be involved in their own learning through well-planned experiences that help them develop competence, agency, emotional attachment and self-worth. 3. BalanceLearning should encourage an appropriate balance of physical, cognitive, language and communications, and social and emotional development. 4. PlayLearning should be age appropriate, play-based and child centred. It should include both child- and adult-led activities. 5. TransitionEarly years education should help children transition successfully to primary school, moving from informal, play-based learning to teaching that is more formal. These key principles are central to Cambridge Early Years approach, and we use them in all Cambridge Early Years settings to get the most out of the programme. Glenrich International School Uttara complements the Cambridge Early Years Programme with enriched offerings in Music, Swimming, Physical Education, Library and Montessori work.
