by Dhaka Times on 06 April 2023 ‘স্কুল অব লাইফ’ ধারণাকে উৎসাহিত করতে এবং ভবিষ্যতের জন্য শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রস্তুত করে তুলতে দেশে ‘গ্লেনরিচ ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুল’ (জিআইএস) চালু করেছে এসটিএস গ্রুপ। বৃহস্পতিবার ক্যাম্পাস উদ্বোধনের মাধ্যমে নতুন প্রিমিয়াম কেমব্রিজ কারিকুলামের এ স্কুলের যাত্রা শুরু হলো। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি শিক্ষামন্ত্রী ডা. দীপু মনি, এমপি। গেস্ট অব অনার হিসেবে উপস্থতি ছিলেন বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী টিপু মুনশি, এমপি এবং বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন শিক্ষা উপমন্ত্রী মহিবুল হাসান চৌধুরী, এমপি। অনুষ্ঠানে আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন বাংলাদেশে নিযুক্ত ভারপ্রাপ্ত ব্রিটিশ হাই কমিশনার ম্যাট ক্যানেল, জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য ড. মো. মশিউর রহমান, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুলস সার্ভিসেসের (আইএসএস) পরিচালক স্টিভ প্লিসিনস্কি এবং এসটিএস গ্রুপের চেয়ারম্যান বব কুন্দানমাল। আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন এসটিএস গ্রুপের প্রধান নির্বাহী মানস সিং এবং গ্লেনরিচ ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুলের অধ্যক্ষ রমেশ মুগডাল। অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যান্য বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গ ও এসটিএস গ্রুপের সদস্যরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের পর অতিথিরা জিআইএস -এর অত্যাধুনিক ক্যাম্পাস ঘুরে দেখেন। অনুষ্ঠানে শিক্ষামন্ত্রী ডা. দীপু মনি বলেন, ‘গত এক দশকে শিক্ষার সুযোগ সম্প্রসারণের ক্ষেত্রে বাংলাদেশ উল্লেখযোগ্য অগ্রগতি অর্জন করেছে। সরকার শিক্ষা ক্ষেত্রে পরিবর্তন আনতে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। ১৯৯৭ সালে বাংলাদেশে যাত্রা শুরু করে এসটিএস গ্রুপ। যাত্রা শুরুর পর থেকে বিভিন্ন উদ্ভাবনী পদ্ধতি গ্রহণের মাধ্যমে তারা দেশে আন্তর্জাতিক মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষা প্রদানের প্রচেষ্টা অব্যাহত রেখেছে। এ লক্ষ্য পূরণে তাদের আইএসডি এবং ডিপিএস রয়েছে।’ দীপু মনি আরও বলেন, ‘স্কুল অব লাইফ’ ধারণা নিয়ে গ্লেনরিচ নামে গ্রুপটি আরেকটি বিশ্বমানের শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান উদ্বোধন করেছে। আমার বিশ্বাস স্কুলটি এর শিক্ষাদান পদ্ধতিতে বাংলাদেশের সংস্কৃতি ও বিশ্বাসকে যুক্ত করবে এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের ভবিষ্যতের জন্য প্রস্তুত করে তুলতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে ।’ বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী টিপু মুনশি বলেন, ‘গ্লেনরিচের চমৎকার ক্যাম্পাস দেখতে পেরে এবং স্কুলটি যে ধারণা নিয়ে কাজ করবে তা জানতে পেরে আমরা আনন্দিত। শিক্ষাখাতসহ বাংলাদেশ বিভিন্ন খাতে ধারাবাহিকভাবে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে। আমার আন্তরিক প্রত্যাশা, প্রবৃদ্ধির এ ধারা অব্যাহত থাকবে।’ এসটিএস গ্রুপের চেয়ারম্যান বব কুন্দানমাল বলেন, ‘আমরা বাংলাদেশের ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের জন্য সর্বোচ্চ মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষা প্রদানে ধারাবাহিকভাবে বিনিয়োগ করতে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ। আমাদের লক্ষ্য বাংলাদেশের তরুণদের বৈশ্বিকভাবে প্রতিযোগিতামূলক অবস্থার সমপর্যায়ে নিয়ে আসার জন্য তাদের প্রস্তুত করে তোলা। সে লক্ষ্যেই, আমরা ‘স্কুল অব লাইফ’ ধারণা ও উন্নত পাঠ্যক্রম নিয়ে এসেছি, যা তরুণদের ভবিষ্যতের জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় দক্ষতা অর্জনে ভূমিকা রাখবে।’ যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুলস সার্ভিসেসের (আইএসএস) পরিচালক স্টিভ প্লিসিনস্কি বলেন, ‘গ্লেনরিচ ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুলের যাত্রা শুরু করা নিয়ে আমরা অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত। স্কুলের শিক্ষার্থীদের যেন সকল পর্যায়ে সর্বোচ্চ মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষা প্রদান করা হয়, তা নিশ্চিতে আইএসএস স্কুলের ব্যবস্থাপনা কর্তৃপক্ষের সাথে ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে কাজ করব।’ অনুষ্ঠানে বাংলাদেশে নিযুক্ত ভারপ্রাপ্ত ব্রিটিশ হাই কমিশনার ম্যাট ক্যানেল বলেন, ‘এসটিএস গ্রুপ প্রিমিয়াম কেমব্রিজ কারিকুলাম স্কুল উদ্বোধন করেছে। এটা অত্যন্ত আনন্দের। এসটিএস গ্রুপের পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে ভবিষ্যতে বাংলাদেশের অন্যান্য স্থানে গ্লেনরিচ ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুল চালু করার। এজন্য আমি তাদের সাধুবাদ জানাই।’ প্রসঙ্গত, গ্লেনরিচ স্কুলে শিক্ষার্থীরা শিক্ষামূলক বিষয়গুলো সম্পর্কে শিক্ষালাভ করবে এবং স্বাচ্ছন্দ্যদায়ক ও উপযুক্ত পরিবেশে সৃজনশীল বিকাশে পাঠ গ্রহণ করবে। শিক্ষার্থীদের পাঠ্যক্রমে আলিয়ঁস ফ্রঁসেজের সহযোগিতায় ফ্রেঞ্চ ভাষার কোর্স থাকবে এবং স্টেমরোবো রোবোটিকস শেখাবে। স্কুলের ম্যাথ ল্যাবের মাধ্যমে ম্যাথ বাডির সুবিধা প্রদান করা হবে এবং অ্যাসোসিয়েটেড বোর্ড অব রয়্যাল স্কুলস অব মিউজিক সঙ্গীতের পাঠ দান করবে। Source: ঢাকায় গ্লেনরিচ ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুলের যাত্রা শুরু (dhakatimes24.com)

ভাঙা বেড়া নেই সত্যি, সব স্কুলে নেই উন্নত অবকাঠামোও : শিক্ষামন্ত্রী
by Bonik Barta on 06 April 2023 শিক্ষামন্ত্রী ডা. দীপু মনি বলেছেন, এখন আর কোনো স্কুলে ভাঙা বেড়া, টিনের চালা নেই তা যেমন সত্যি, তেমনি সব স্কুলে খুব উঁচুমানের অবকাঠামো নেই সেটাও সত্যি। তাই যেসব স্কুলে সুন্দর সুবিধা নেই সেখানেও শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য আমরা সুযোগ তৈরি করতে পারছি কিনা তা আমাদের মাথায় রাখতে হবে। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার (৬ এপ্রিল) বিকেলে রাজধানীর বাড্ডায় ইংরেজি মাধ্যমের শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান গ্লেনরিচ ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্কুলের উদ্বোধন শেষে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে এসব কথা বলেন তিনি। শিক্ষামন্ত্রী বলেন, একুশ শতকের চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবেলায় যেমন শিক্ষার্থী দরকার সেই শিক্ষার্থী এ স্কুলে তৈরি হবে বলে প্রত্যাশা। এমন প্রতিষ্ঠান যত হবে, প্রতিযোগিতা তত বাড়বে। প্রতিযোগিতা বাড়লে আমরা ভালো মানের প্রতিষ্ঠান পাব। আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীরা দেশে বসে আন্তর্জাতিক মানের শিক্ষা পাবে। কাজেই আপনাদের এই উদ্যোগকে আমরা সাধুবাদ জানাই। তিনি আরো বলেন, এমন প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে বের হওয়া শিক্ষার্থীরা যদি দেশের ইতিহাস, সংস্কৃতি না জানে, তার শেকড়টা না জানে তাহলে বিশ্বের অন্য এক প্রান্তের মানুষের মতোই তাকে থাকতে হবে। আমার ভাষার যে ইতিহাস, সমৃদ্ধি আছে, বিশ্বের নানা ভাষা থেকে যে আমার ভাষা সমৃদ্ধ ও বেগবান হয়েছে, আমাদের সাহিত্য যে এত সমৃদ্ধ সেটা জানার জন্য তাদের বাংলাদেশকে জানতে হবে। তাকে দেশটা চিনতে দিতে হবে, সে যেন শেকড়বিহীন মানুষ না হয়। তার নিজের জন্যই দেশকে, দেশের ইতিহাসকে চিনতে হবে। Source: ভাঙা বেড়া নেই সত্যি, সব স্কুলে নেই উন্নত অবকাঠামোও : শিক্ষামন্ত্রী (bonikbarta.net)

Glenrich International School Satarkul ready to welcome students

The school, promoting the idea ‘School of Life’ was launched through a campus inauguration with the goal of preparing young learners for the future world in a caring and nurturing environment. Education minister Dipu Moni attended the inauguration as the chief guest while, commerce minister Tipu Munshi was the guest of honour. Deputy minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury was present as the special guest. Among other dignitaries, acting British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Matt Cannell, National University vice-chancellor professor Md Mashiur Rahman, director of International Schools Services, USA Steve Plisinski, chairman of STS Group Bob Kundanmal, graced the event with their presence. Apart from them, CEO of STS Group Manas Singh and principal of Glenrich International School Satarkul Ramesh Mudgal were also present at the event alongside other dignitaries and members of STS Group. After the launching ceremony, all the guests took a tour of GIS’s exceptional state-of-the-art campus. Education minister Dipu Moni said, “Over the last decade, Bangladesh has made notable progress in expanding access to education. The government is trying to bring about significant changes in the education sector. It’s amazing to see that STS Group too is contributing towards that by launching this premium school, Glenrich. Bangladesh is steadily growing in various sectors, including the education industry.
